Eu Falo Portugues?

Week 2 of the MTC! Dang dude this week has flown by so fast. Literally feels like I wrote the last email 2 days ago its crazy. I dont have a whole ton to report on this week but it's been a real good one. We had to say goodbye to 2 of the Elders in our room this week which was sad, they've been with us since day one. However we got a new elder in our room and he's like the most legendary dude ever. His name is Elder Sayer and he loves The Beatles and Scott Pilgrim so we get along wonderfully. Speaking of new Elders, young Elder Hohl arrived at the MTC this week, thus completing 2 of the 3 members in the Missionary Squad. Elder Demke and I gave him a warm welcome, and turns out his room is the one right next to mine! So we've been having some fun as neighbors. Elder Demke leaves this week though, but it was still good to have the boys together for a while.

The days here at the MTC are like the same thing on repeat basically, but that doesnt mean they aren't GREAT days on repeat. We start the day off with breakfast then a class (outside the class building they have a row of like 50 country flags, which if you know me I love guessing the country associated with a flag so that's been really entertaining) and then we have lunch, an hour and a half of sand volleyball which we have consistently done every day this week, language class, dinner, another class, then home for the night. This week we started immersion though so every class has been language class. We're only allowed to speak portuguese in classes, so thats like 7 collective hours of Portuguese speaking. That oughta make ya learn it quick. Except its actually been really neat, a day or two ago the district all shared their testimonies the best they could in portuguese, and it was really special cause although we didnt know every word we were saying and it was nothing detailed, we all still felt the spirit a ton. Everyone in my district has a super good testimony, and Ive been learning from every one of them a ton.

Today we went to the Temple, and on the way back I was on the bus with some random Elders and they were literally talking about food for a half hour straight. Except they were talking about RESTAURANT food, they were asking questions like "what is your go-to order from in n out" and stuff like that and I was like you guys we cannot eat any of this food you're just torturing yourselves ðŸ˜ so basically now I really miss Costa Vida. All worth it for the Lord though. Even though we've been doing a lot of Portuguese and it's been harder to get in scripture study and things, Heavenly Father is a genius and set apart a day specifically designed to take a break from work and focus on your testimony. Thats right folks Sundays are a blessing and a half here at the MTC. Ive got a metaphor to share with you all the branch President shared with me.

So yesterday we had a cello player in sacrament meeting, and he was like crazy good so there were some parts during the performance he was playing 2 strings at once and harmonizing with himself. It was super beautiful. The branch president was like you guys this is totally a metaphor for missionary work; even though you guys are only one instrument for god, when people hear you they'll hear both the testimony coming from your mouth, and the testimony thr spirit is bearing to them. I think thats a super good visual, and its even more awesome its cello related. Without the spirit missionary work would go like nowhere.

Anyways though you guys. Its been a great week, hopefully this next week slows down cause I know ill miss the people here when I leave. But Im still so excited for the end goal of Brazil, and working hard towards becoming a better teacher each and every day here. Im gonna keep working hard for yall, and hopefully have plenty more to say by next week. Love everyone so much, and as usual thank you so so much for the responses and the love sent to me. Stay safe everyone

Remember,
Testimony = to KNOW of Christ
Conversion = to BELIEVE in Christ.
