Daaali pessoal how are we doin? These last 6 weeks have flown the heck by holy cow, but now we're onto the next chapter in the mish novel. We had transfers yesterday, and I will be staying (finally) in Buritizal! Honestly so excited for this transfer, I'm gonna be comps with some stud named Elder Moraes who I've never met before but we're gonna go nuts this transfer and work our heads off.       Also my man Elder Klinger finally found his way out of Macapa (dude's been in one area for almost 8 months) and is now on his way to... the mission office!? That's right folk, my man is moving up to white collar work now. He's going to become the mission's finance secretary and be in charge of practically everything to do with money. It's a big job but he's gonna slay it, I've got a ton of faith in him and know he's a super hard worker.       Speaking of good ol Elder Klinger, I had a division with him this last week! Him and I had a throwback to...

THINGS WE SAID TODAY

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "There is a destiny, which makes us brothers; None lives to self alone; All that we send into the lives of others Comes back into our own."  - Edwin Markham        Learning another language has for me definitely been a journey of ups and downs. There are some days where I can practically feel Macapaense blood coursing through my veins and speak and am understood really well, but much of the time (if not the majority) I always need to give my full attenion to what others are saying and how I'm responding to be able to communicate well.       One night this week we were at a member's house talking with a family, while during the conversation one of the young women at the table wasn't understanding anything that I was saying. After about the seventh "huh?" after I'd said something, I asked if she was understanding my Portuguese, to which she said no. She stated that I mumble when I talk, don't vocalize loud enough, and gave me...

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "(...) And it is in this life that you walk by faith, and prove yourself able to choose good over evil. Right over wrong. Enduring happiness over meer amusement. And your eternal reward will be according to your choosing." -Man's Search for Happiness (1986)      What's cracking ladies and gentlemen. Another weekly email is upon us. To call a spade a spade there weren't a whole bunch of large events from the week, but a week is a week! I was never one to shame a 7-day cycle and I'm not gonna start now, so let's give her the credit she deserves.       This week we were like, actually saved by an angel woman. So there we were, walking the streets doing our thing, on the way to visit someone. Right as we were arriving at the person's house, underneath the person's car we heard a low growling, which was sorry news cause I left my rabid dog repellent at home. Out of nowhere, this dog starts coming towards us, looking at us like 2 tasty...

BACK IN THE USSR

WELCOME back folk to another Belémian Rhapsody. We hit the airport as soon as the week started, and headed to Belém for a zone leader conference. It was my first time going to one, so it was a super cool experience! A lot of the conference was just a debate between the zone leaders themselves on the best changes to make to the mission to have more success, but President Ferreira also prepared a really good training on being a leader. The biggest thing I took from it was a piece of simple advice: the best leader in the world was Jesus Christ, so look to him for an example in everything that I do. That piece of advice and a lot of others were said at the CLM and it was a great time. Also I got to see all the fellas so it was extra even mais melhor  I wanted to share this email a talk that I read this week, that I loved! It's called "It's true isn't it? Then what else matters?" And there's a experience he told that stood out to me: Elder Gordon B. Hinckley spoke ...
