1st Transfer over!

1st Transfer is behind me folks! And holy cow these last 6 weeks have flown by like nobodies business. Been so much learning, learning, with a side of learning, all good things and I think I'm taking it to heart pretty well. And also, the next email I'll be sending out will be in the month of December, so that makes this email the last email of November! So I've made another drawings to summarize this month down below. Man oh man am I excited for the holiday season, especially the one about the Birth of Jesus coming up! I hope the church puts out some fire new Light the World videos cause those things invite the spirit like none other. But although the Holiday seasons a little tough, nothing fills that hole like being in the service of other people, and being grateful for all that you have. Anyways though I gotta toss the introduction aside and get to the meat of this week. Let's discuss this last week, bad cop good cop style.

The Goodness:
-This Thursday, we had the amazing opportunity to go to the Belem Temple! I couldn't understand a whole ton cause it was all in Portuguese, but I was so happy to have been able to go and I felt totally and awesomely rejuvinated afterward, which was a huge blessing. We also got a ton of pictures there which I will include down south
-I've been learning a ton this week. Both about things spiritual and also about myself, how I can be the person that i want to become and that God needs me to become. I feel like I can really tell myself and God that I am trying my best every day, and making plans to be better in each category of life. I have a giant, giant testimony in that the Lord is with me through this, that he is adjusting my decisions and helping me be the most that I can whenever I'm willing to be

 The Badness:
-We've had to say goodbye to a lot of people who haven't been progressing which was mad sad ๐Ÿ˜” some of them Elder McLane has known for months now, and so telling them we couldn't visit them anymore was super tough. It's hard cause you wanna be friends with everyone but you're also on the Lord's time, so if someone's super awesome but they've got no interest in the Church then you've gotta stop having visits with them

Spiritual Thought:
1 Nephi 3 has quite a fire verse:

"7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them"

It's such a comfort to me to know that the Lord always has a path prepared to accomplish things. It doesn't matter how often I make mistakes, or how often I feel weak or down in the dumps, as many times as I put my trust in Jesus Christ and go to him in humility, he will always give me strength and the comfort I need. Each day I pray for the strength and wisdom to know what I need to do in order to accomplish the purpose I have here each day, and I know that when I can genuinely say I am trying my best that my efforts will be magnified, and that I will be led in the direction I need to be. I have so much faith in my Savior, and so much gratitude for his example and atonement for me and the opportunity I have EVERY day to experience his power.

To wrap this email up, this transfer was a great one. All the memories I already made, experiences I've had and lessons I've learned are all so valuable to me, and I cannot wait to make more. I'm still in training mode, so I've got another transfer with Elder McLane in our same area and I can't even lie I'm hyped about it. Stay tuned for more of the misadventures of Elder Hillstead and his growing testimony in the Gospel. All of you are very important to me, enjoy the Holidays, eat some fantastic Pumpkin Pie in my honor and I will talk to you next week!
