Yo yo yo everybody how are things a-GOIN'? Folks quite a week it's been here for me. This was the last week before the transfer, so I said all my goodbyes to the friends I've made here in Tapanã, and I'll be kissing my first stomping grounds goodbye first thing tomorrow morning. Starting tomorrow, I'll be making my way to this area called "Paar," which is another area in the city of Belém. I found an emoji of where the new area's at right here
it's pretty zoomed out, but it's all I could find. Additionally, I'll be finding the next homeboy comp Elder Bertoch which I'm mad hyped about, heard he's a chiller and a groover. But overall, I am beyond grateful for the time I've had here in Tapanã, and can't wait for the upcoming adventure to start in the land of paar-omise tomorrow!
This week, me and Elder Lokham contracted a deadly Brazilian plague (a common cold) and I have been dying (just coughing and sneezing) all week. Nothing serious but we woke up Wednesday feeling like tar, and tried to push through and work. Then we woke up on Thursday and felt like double tar, we decided to give the body a chance to heal. Regardless of the sickness, this week was still pretty dang good! It's kinda tough leaving right now cause it feels like the entire last transfer we were workin workin workin with these people we've met, and now right as they're all starting to come to church I've got to bid my farewells. It's all good though, I'm super grateful for the opportunity to meet all the people I have here and I know the next and upcoming Elder of Tapanã is boutta bring some mad miracles. I'm super grateful for the blessings the Lord has shown me during my time here, and I look forward to getting to meet more amazing people and get the chance to bring others unto him.
This email I wanna give a shoutout to my man Moisés. He's a reoccuring figure in a lot of these emails, but he is genuinely someone incredible. I met him like my first or second week here back with Elder McLane, and since then he has become a genuine example to me. Since the moment we met him he had so much faith in the things we were teaching about, and gained a love for the Gospel super quick. Since his baptism, he's been one of my best friends here, he's helped us with a lot of lessons, and he has become someone I will never forget. These last couple of weeks, I've been feeling straight up like a proud father. He's been telling us he's been sharing the Gospel to some of his homies at school, to his teacher who was asking about the church, and has asked us for copies of the Book of Mormon so that he could give them to people he knew. Yesterday at church, he recieved the Aaronic Preisthood, and is very quickly moving in a direction to do incredible things. He has been a shining example to me, and I'm so grateful that the Lord blessed me to be in Tapanã when I was to meet this amazing dude. Tough as heck to say goodbye to him but we'll be fine

This week, the spiritual highlight that I took away was just how profound of an event the Atonement was, and continues to be. In Alma 42: 17-22, we read about the fact that there is a law of justice that God cannot break. Where if we stay in sin, there is automatically an affixed punishment and consequence attatched to it. Because of the fall of Adam and Eve, we're all here today, but we'd also all be confined to stay in sin and the consequences associated with that. Because of the law of sin, there would be no mercy. The only way to satisfy the laws of justice and mercy at the same time is to have a 3rd force involved, who satisfies justice AND offers mercy. THAT is what the savior's atonement was. Where he paid the price of everything we would have to face should we stayed in sin, in one moment, so that we could have a chance at mercy. The reason that God is so serious about repenting, is because he gave his only begotten son Jesus Christ in order to fulfill this otherwise IMPOSSIBLE role. He is pleading for each of us to repent and to utilize the power that Jesus Christ suffered for, so that his suffering wasn't for nothing. I give my testimony of the Atonement, that it's real, that the saving power the Savior gave to us is real, and that we can and should utilize the suffering he endeured today. Repent, use the power of the atonement, and don't leave yourself to deal with a consequence when someone else already dealt with it for you, that's straight stupid. I'm so grateful for my Savior, and I testify of the peace and the comfort that I've found through him, and the power anyone reading has to find the same peace as well.
Whooo lengthy spiritual thought there. What can I say, it's a big topic. ANYWAYS though everybody I think that's just about everything I've got to share for the week. It's hard to articulate everything that goes on in a week, but overall I'm feeling really grateful these days. Each day's a freakin blessing dude, ain't no lie about it. UNTIL next time everybody, reach out to me if you wanna enter the C.C.P.C, or certified cool people's club, but otherwise, I love you all and I will talk to you in the next one. Peace out Tapanã
