Here Comes The Sun πŸ₯΅πŸ”₯🌑

Whaaaat is up everybody! How things been for everyone? Life here in Brazilski's been a grand ol' time. This last week was frickin killer can't even lie, in the figurative work sense and in the literal physical sense as well. The wintery rainy season has been warming the heck up, and when days become scalding hot we're the first ones to know. I got here in Brazil right as fall was starting so I haven't even experienced the true raw ParΓ‘ sun yet but it's arriving lemme tell ya. Can't imagine how the other goons over in MacapΓ‘ and SantarΓ©m are holding up, gotta be deadly over there. Anyways though lemme give yall the update!

This week was a straight jam. Me and Elder Johnson were workin crazy style and making jokes throughout each day the whole week. Been such a goated transfer with him praying to have another ☝️πŸ”₯.  Without a doubt though, this week's spotlight goes to our friend Patricia! We met her 3 weeks ago almost on the dot and since then we've been returning, conversing and it's been radical. Since the beginning she's had a ton of faith that this is God's true church. She's always been open about the questions she's had, followed up on invitations, and been a really good listener during discussions. We created a goal when we met, that if in 3 weeks (from the time we'd met her) she'd felt like she'd recieved a confirmation that these things are true and this is God's true church, she could be baptized and become a member. She's shown a lot of genuine care to recieve her response, and yesterday she was Baptized! I shared a short testimony at her Baptism yesterday, and said that she's someone "consecrated in God." Everything she does she gives credit to God, all the good that happens to her, trusts in his plan for her, and overall truly has him at her core in life. She's been a total inspiration to me, and I've been mad happy to teach and learn with her these last couple of weeks!

This week we also had a sweet activity at the church! We got some peeps together and reinacted the story of the Liahona from The Book of Mormon with crew members from the audience. I narrated the tale and the others acted as they went, and Elder Johnson made a fine Nephi if I do say so myself. The reason we reinacted the story though was to represent that a lot like the family of Lehi was in need of direction while they were in the desert, we're definitely in need of direction in the days we're living in. And like the Lord provided for them the Liahona, he also provided for us the book of mormon. The Liahona "works according to the faith, diligence and attention" which they give it?? Yeah uhhh don't know how much clearer that could have been as a representation that the word of God gives us. Crazy to think that the book of mormon was restored and brought forth in this day and age SPECIFICALLY to advise those in the latter-days trying to follow Jesus Christ. Reading it every day is reading God's direct message to us for the present day, and definitely feeds the wisdom that our souls need to survive in this metaphorical wilderness.

Other moments:
-random homie on the street complimented me that my hair looked like "rock and roll" hair
-fought a roach in the bathroom for a solid 5 minutes screaming like a crazed maniac (you can ask the roommates)
-Elder Almeida finally copped Skull King and the whole house has been skulkin' it up every night πŸ΄‍☠️⚓
-This investigator had a really cute white dog that had to go to the hospital & the next time we pulled up he had passed away πŸ₯²πŸ’”

We have the ward best members ever. We has a couple meals with some this week and they all tried to prepare something extra nice, even if they were short on time or funds. They said that they wanted to prepare the best meal they could, as if it were Jesus coming to eat at their house. The missionaries are most definitely not the same as the savior, but I felt super frickin touched by their support. I love the Paar ward, totally fallen in love with this ward it'll be super tough if I've gotta dip next transfer. Speaking of members though, one member showed me this scripture yesterday and it's probably one of the best and most direct missionary scriptures out there.

D&C 42:6
6 And ye shall go forth in the power of my Spirit, preaching my gospel, two by two, in my name, lifting up your voices as with the sound of a trump, declaring my word like unto angels of God.

I'm just gonna leave the scripture there with the thought I've been having all week: I love being a missionary. Very glad for the learning experience every day brings and immensely grateful for the priviledge to be the Lord's servant. This Gospel is as true as true gets in the world, it's all found here. It's all found through Jesus Christ.
