ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE π
Welcome back to another splitter. General conference this week was amazing, I've been looking at conference like the upcoming superbowl here on the mission and it did not dissapoint. I came into general conference with a buncha questions I was needing wisdom on, and by the end I felt like I had recieved direction on each one! Everyone that spoke was chosen by revelation, and gave us the message that God wants us to know for our lives right now. Also all of the prayers said for the missionaries meant so much to me!
It warmed my heart a ton how during the conference, there were so many speakers who gave homage to President Nelson. I didn't comment on the passing of President Nelson really last week, but this week there was an event the church did honoring his life. It really struck me how he was remembered by everyone who knew him as someone who cared more about others than himself. Who remembered names, showed interest when others talked, worked with patience and kindness, and wasn't two-faced. He was absolutely a man where people grew closer to the savior through knowing him.
One of the questions I had during conference was about how to be a better leader. Through watching general conference and through watching the event about the life of President Nelson, I felt the Lord tell me that I can focus on following the example of the Savior and growing my love for others. Remembering names and retaining information about the lives of other people are things that I lowkey struggle with at times
but I know it's something I can focus on in order to make others feel more loved, and for me to care about the lives of other people more than my own. But ya that was kinda the big takeaway I got from conference, how looking to the savior as an example is the answer to everything, and how everything he did was out of love for us. Through exercising charity, the pure love of christ, we'll inevitably become more like him and gain other christlike attributes.
